FAQ

Common questions about self-hosting Supabase with Supascale

Is Supascale a subscription?

No. Supascale licenses are a one-time purchase with a perpetual right to use the software, including one year of updates. After the first year you can optionally buy a renewal to keep receiving updates — your license itself never expires.

Can I try Supascale for free?

Yes. Supascale Free is our open-source CLI, available on GitHub at no cost. You can deploy Supabase on your own servers with it and buy a license later if you want the web GUI and the rest of the paid feature set.

Can I upgrade my license to a higher tier later?

Yes. You can upgrade at any time by reaching out via our contact form, and you only pay the difference between the two tiers — for example, Personal ($99) to Commercial ($299) costs $200, and Commercial ($299) to Agency ($799) costs $500. Your update window carries over unchanged.

Can I downgrade my license to a lower tier?

No. Licenses can be upgraded but not downgraded. If you are unsure which tier fits, start with the lower tier — you can always upgrade later for the difference in price.

Can I transfer or resell my license?

No. Licenses are non-transferable and are tied to the purchasing account. They cannot be sold, given away, or moved to another person or company.

Where can I find my invoices?

You can find your invoices in your account settings.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payments are processed securely through Stripe, which accepts all major credit and debit cards.

How many servers can I install Supascale on?

Free and every paid tier can be installed on unlimited servers you own. There are no per-server or per-project fees. The Agency tier additionally covers installing on infrastructure your clients own.
